[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
ten days ago, my three students and me visited Ketençimeni High Plateau on Melendiz Maountains. This mountains range between Niğde and Aksaray provinces in east-west direction and they are volcanic mountains in sleep. They were active until several thousands year ago. I hope they are in sleep always. Today, I visit same area and famous Ihlara Valley. But this post from on 22 June and it belongs to male of Darevskia valentini lantzicyreni (Darevsky et Eiselt, 1967) - Valentin Kaya Kertenkelesi [TR], Valentin's Rock Lizard [EN] which described from Erciyes Dağı [Mountain]. This form also known formerly Lacerta saxicola lantzicyreni from the family LACERTIDAE (REPTILIA: LACERTILIA).
You can see good mimicry between its colors and lichens on the rock. You can find additional information and photographes of the species on fallowing links, written by my close friend Bayram Göçmen (boreocypriensis) [other photographs: photo 1, photo 2, photo 3, photo 4, photo 5].

I also add its second shot when it was in ecdysis "shedding of skin" on Workshop.

My special thanks to Bayram who confirmed ifentification made by me and he wrote nice information for the species on his posts.

Hola Ahmet.
Muy bellos los tonos de colores de esta hermosa especie de Lagartija. La pose y sus ojos viendo directamente a Tu lente. La nota muy educativa.
Saludos Ahmet

Hi Ahmet,

How are you? like usually you produce a superb semi-close up shot, good detail and composition of color, the depth of field is about right with nice blur background. I would prefer if I could shot the entire length of the skink. TFS

Güzel bir kare olmuş, elinize sağlık. WS'deki kare de oldukça güzel. Yanındaki de yılan derisi mi acaba diye soracaktım ki Bayram Hocam yazmış zaten. Paylaşım için teşekkürler.

Merhaba Ahmet!
Maybe DOF is not perfect in this photo but for me it is a very interesting lizard species never seen in the wild. You are lucky that you leave in Turkey where so many amphibians and reptiles live. Nice work and very interesting documentary picture in WS.
All the best from country where only 4 lizard species occur :>
