Actually this is a spotted flat (genus Celaenorrhinus). But I am not sure about its exact ID. I named it Whiskered skipper to see why please see the WS. Help needed for exact ID. Thanks a lot for viewing.

hello haraprasan,
i have never seen this species of the skipper, today i have also shooted the first skipper of this season, the photo looks flat to me , the bg has noise visiblity too,
regards
pankaj

The shape of the eyes suggests it is a Skipper, HP.
That it has a profusion of whiskers makes it a different kind of Skipper which I have seen for the first time.
The POV shows the details and colours on the open wings very clearly.
Hope some specialist is able to ID it for you.
TFS and regards.
Ram

Hi Haraprasan, my dear friend,
A great detailed anf well-focused macro shot of this Whiskered skipper with wonderful colours. TFS.
Cheers,
Bayram

Hi Haraprasan,
this is a good study, its flat sure but which one, not common spotted. look at the hind wing shape which is different from common spotted. you need an expert. the image lacks details, as you have used flash the colors seems to washed out. the background seems to be unusual too like the whiskers of this skipper. tfs.

Hola Haraprasan,
excelente captura,
buen pov. detalles y foco.
saludos

Hi Haraprasan

What an unusual looking skipper, I've not seen anything like it before.
Good sharpness, DOF and composition.

Chris

I quickly looked to see if Ram had written...because I am no expert at skippers unless he or Joey does them...I think I might know one if I actually saw one, but as I have said many times before...butterflies seem to elude me in one way or another so my glances through eyes such as yours HP, are all that I really need.

Hello Haraprasan,
Wow, what a beautiful Skipper that I can't recall having seen before! Wonderful wing pattern, interesting whiskers and blue points to the antennae! Fantastic! I also like the shape of the wings. And all this you've captured so well! A fine composition too. Brilliant!!
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hi Haraprasan,

I can see how you came up with that name. Amazing whiskers as shown in the workshop. I am sure I have never seen this butterfly before. I love the shape and the wing markings.

Hi Haraprasan,
Splendid shot of this great looking Moth and though the image looks a little flat it still retains its beauty. The bristles around its head looks so different. Nice colours and details and a great pose captured. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.
TFS.
