[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Opiliones or Harvestmen are arachnids (8-legged arthropods) but NOT spiders. Spiders have two body parts (fused head-thorax and abdomen), two fangs, and produce silk. Harvestmen do not produce silk, have no fangs, and have one body part, not two as in spiders, nor three as in insects. Spiders have waist, Harvestmen do not.
Daddy-long-leg-spider are many times confused with "Daddy-long-legs" which are Opiliones (Harvestmen).
Order Opiliones contain around 3200 species. Typically, where there is vegetation, there are Opiliones. They make their homes in the forest floor, on trunks of trees and on fallen logs.
Though most of these species are nocturnal, there are a few species who are quite active during the day.
As far as size goes, leg length is rather large compared to their 5 to 10 mm cephalothorax. In some tropical regions, the body may reach 20 mm not including leg length, which, in this case, reaches 106 mm. Yet, there also exists tiny, mite-like species, with legs no longer than 1 mm.
Upon the anterior lateral margins of the carapace, openings to a pair of scent, or repulgnatorial, glands exist. They produce secretions, quinones, and have an acrid odor. They either spray this at intruders, or pick up a glop of it, and thrust it towards the predator or intruder.
Although they usually travel quite slowly, they maneuver rather quickly when they see the need. Self-amputation of legs proves helpful when it comes to defense against predators. The abdominal segments are outwardly segmented, and the first two are combined, forming an anterior plate known as operculum, bearing genital openings.

All this info was taken from here, as I did know nothing about this little Aracnids but no spiders !!!

Aquí tambien hay informacion muy completa para los hispano parlantes.

Very good LP serie Felipe,
Special the one on the right side ia a great macro, with a fantastic dof, and good colours, very good job you did here.

Typical harvest man lacking atleast one leg, though they seem to manage quiet well.
3 well presented images, the right hand one is the best , the left one the Bracken is a little over exposed in places but not seriously, you could try brun tool at a low level 15% and a soft edged brush, apply lightly and if need be more than once, keep going back and trying again if it does not look right.

A very good job you have done here Felipe. Excellent work, and loads of detail. It's hard to get these critters as their legs are everywhere. Excellent series, great note. Well done.

Hi Felipe I like this idea of a picture series which builds up a bigger picture of the subject. It also gives the opportunity of a larger version which is a good thing. Unfortunately in my last post I meant to do just that but it must not have been long enough to class as a pan. Great use of DOF in the far right shot.

A very well presented series of work.
Great shots with good detail.
Good note too,very well done.

Good serie Felipe.
Very good images with good colours and good details.
Very good note.
Great work.

Excellent series Felipe. These are really difficult to get a fair shot of because of the long legs - one is always out of focus or out of the picture. Great sharpness due to a clever use of dof and great colours. Very good job.

Outstanding. I just read an article earlier this week on them. You have succeeded in making this an exceptional post. The detail in the LP are very good. Nice work Felipe.

Very well presented, Felipe.

Your photo is detailed, sharp and well composed.
I like it. Thanks for charing.
