Lilys and Crab Spider
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I was going throw the Lily pictures I took at Battle Ground Lake and I noticed what I believe is a White Crab Spider on one of the peddles. I have never seen one before, but after looking it up I think thats what it is.
White Crab Spider also known as White Flower Spider. This species of Flower Spiders are a little larger than the Diaea species. The spiders also hide in the flower plants and their abdomen just look like the flower buds. At day time they rest in their retreats made by the leafs and their silk. At night they sit beside the flower and wait for the visitors, such as the small moths. |

Hi Tom
Your little Crab Spider was well hidden, I had to look a few times before I found it....like here's waldo LOL. The lilies are amazing, I wish we had this type around here. The dark green foliage is a really nice contast to the lilies and spider. Nicely composed and balanced. Did you see the spider when you took the photo or did you notice it later?

Bonjour Tom,
Hello Tom,
like the way you have placed the two flowers along the diagonal....makes for a dynamic compo.
and doesnt the crab spider look so wonderful!!

You did an admiral job at working with whites..I have such a hard time with whites unless there is some other to come in and then it only might be ok...sometimes in order to make one work, you have to allow for the other some room....You did well.
