Congratulations dear Goldy. You reached 100 post in a very short time. I have enjoyed every one of them! This is one bird that seems to be the same the world over. A beautiful House Sparrow posing as though he knew he would be part of a celebration. Excellent natural colors, sharp details and your always lovely settings. Heres to hundreds more.

You sure saved a good one for today Goldy. This is one of your best shots and if I have said that before then it at least ties...VERY nice image and so natural looking. Mine of the birds tend to look a bit contrived....but this one is just super. Congrats!

What a spectacular shot! Your notes are awesome as well - I'm constantly amazed at what I learn here - it's better than any class that I've ever paid for.
The colors caught my attention immediately, and my eye is drawn to the sparrow. The pose is lovely, DOF perfect, and POV has me looking at him straight-on. I love the way you compiled the photo - great contrasts, colors, hues, and composition.

I always liked your forest pictures, the Corbett Park that you have shown us in all its beauty. And this little house sparrow is perfectly shot, it is sharp and the colours are natural looking and beautiful. I like the shadow and the faint light falling on the bird. This is a fine capture of the House Sparrow which has now become quite rare in my area.
The details are sharp but I have to be honest and say that the dead space the the right of the picture would have been better used with the subject looking into it...I know so well captures of birds are not easy at all!!

congrats on 100 posts. Good shot of this House Sparrow, with some very nice lighting, colour and details. I think it would look better on the right hand side of the shot looking into space rather than the left, but i guess that's just personal preference.

Well seen from your BG also. I agree with Gert, the bird should not be facing the corner, a bit cramped. But composition is always subjective..You know in Chinese philosophy one man's yin is anothers man's yang ;}

I see you have crossed the milestone with a combination of various shots depicting your talent as a wildlife photographer, as a landscape artisit etc etc. Your photographs also makes it quite evident that you carry a passion for the Corbett Park and is keen on essaying a role that will help the park through your contribution of work to it.It is very impressive an idea and appreciable an activity.
The sparrow is one of my favourite birds, simply beacuase of the fact that they are one of the most frequent visitors that i get on my balcony.And this one seems to have visited you somehwere in the vicinity of your home. I like the soft lighting yet the amazing clarity that highlights the features of the bird.Fine DoF and i agree with Gert on the palcement of the subject.The dark muted Bg helps focus on the bird completely.Well done.

Your note has a lot of information. The bird being in the left end bottom corner is giving a good composition. The point of view is allowing us to see the details and colors of house sparrow. The light brings out the colors. Have a nice day.
