Hi Ulla,

The only time I get to see as many butterflies as you is at the butterfly exhibition at the Botanical Gardens each winter. The room is so humid I can't spend much time there. This Scarce Copper is amazingly beautiful. The pose on the leaf is wonderful. Beautiful rich colors, sharp details and a very pretty composition.

Hi Ulla . We have a large Electric pylon not to far from my river spot and as you say they is a green area nerby full of wild flower . I have got a lot of pictures there. This is a vert bright one with fine detail . i like the brown around the edge .TFS interesting notes too.

This is very beautiful lycaenid and one of my favourite. but in this year, I have seen it rarely. Your capture excellent with great POV and superb sharp details. Orange-red and green contrasted eachother perfectly. Thanks for sharing, well done

I know copper well and when it ages a slight bit with patina it turns into green...so this does not and is called copper anyway..which makes me green with envy then:-) It is a shot which I think I may have to give up on..No butterflies for me. Jane's health has not been well enough for me to get out and do any work....so I am pretty much stuck around my locale for now...and with your images to guide me....when things are right some day I will attempt this type of shot. Until that time...you can fill in!

A great shot but also a great example that nature always finds a way to survive and to exploit the given conditions.
Very good macro here with a lovley pose from this butterfly.
The opened wings show the wonderful colors well and the upper POV is great for that.
Nice exposure settings and presentation, too.

Hi Ulla,
lovely posting - and a wise word on the blessings of clearings.
Perfectly describing images of a male 'Vitfläckig Guldvinge', and his lady. I also enjoyed their sweet company at exactly the same time when walking through mountain meadows cleared by farmers from trees some 800 years ago, and still maintained by their families, at an elevation of 2000m in the Austrian Ötztal valley. Seeing dozens of those butterflies blinking in the sun like gems is a great delight - and you showed that well here.

I like your butterfly pictures. Sweden seems to have a great variety of butterflies.
Great colors, sharpness and composition. The contrast between the saturated green and orange makes this picture special, too.
