Yes, another damselfly, sorry :-) This season damselflies are everywhere and to be honest they're very polite models. They like to sit on reeds near ponds, so it is quite easy to capture them with nice, blurred BG. This one is very nice, 'metallic' specie which I photographed for first time this summer.

This post is dedicated for my my friend Horia - fan of damselflies, Metallica and Diablo :-) Time for you Horia, please ID :-)

Hello Greg,
Brilliant capture of this lovely Lestes damselfly in good light and against a fine dark background. Beautiful colours and very sharp details too. A fine composition!
TFS and cheers, Ulla

Hello Magician,
Why do you hide your exif data from us mortals? Don't you realize some of us live for it?
This picture of another beautiful damselfly is real magic -- seriously speaking. All the subtle and delicate colours on it are captured in their finest forms.
Hats off to you, man.

Hi Greg

Many many thanks for this and many congratulations for such a superb shot!
I really love all Lestes dragonflies but only managed few shots of their species. This one is not on the list and therefore your choice for a dedication is even more spot-on :)

This is a Lestes dryas - the Robust Spreadwing, a male and he sure looks terrific!
I really like the sharpness of all the details here, the splendid DOF that keeps the entire body of the damsel in full focus, the gorgeous colors and metallic reflections. All these, topped by the lovely diagonal composition and the perfectly uniform BG make this a stunning photo and post!
A true beauty in every way, going straight to my theme :)

Thanks you again for this kind dedication and good luck for more!
Bravo and TFS
Horia

PS: Did you know this? :))

You are quite the eclectic imager Grzegorz. Only a handful can go from one natural theme to another with ease. Very fine crisp tight portrait with notes and dedication both in the active and passive meanings!

Yes, another damselfly.
Well now is the season Greg, and think - in a few months time it will cold and snowing and these damselflies won't be around.
Pretty colours, it looks quite golden and iridescent in places.

Hi Greg,
A very nice capture of this beautiful metallic color damselfly. Superb details and a very nice composition. You have mastered the DSLR pretty well. Thanks a lot for sharing.

hello greg,

i have never seen such good results from a Sigma 70/300 apo dg macro lens. i too use this lens but never managed to get something like this, razor sharp maacro, the precise dof has got the total insect body in sharp focus, excellnt bg, i would have preferred some more space at the head, nice work,

I am taking break for a couple of weeks and hope to see your good work again when i come back,

regards

pankaj
