Mycena stylobates
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hello,
It was long time ago I uploaded anything to TrekNature, simply because I was very busy with the homepage of our fungi club. But I miss You, my nature lover Friends, I'm unable to live without You so long...
This time I'd like to show You a little, 3 centimeters tall treasure, Mycena stylobates. In most of the cases it grows on fallen leaves, as You can see on the link above and others, but sometimes on rotten wood, too. Not frequent in Hungary. I found it closed to Bükkszentlászló village, in oak forest. This specie may be identified easily due to the basal disc on the stipe (although this isn't the only specie with it) - see workshop. Edibility: unknown, but worthless.
Doing this shot was quite challenging with my poor equipment. This isn't the first time I try to photograph a very small Mycena, but one of the very few pics I'm satisfied with.
PP: optimal contrast, little darkening, slight curve adjustment, noise reduction, "sharpen more" to the cap, different doses of gaussian blur to separated parts of the background (from 1,2 to 3,8 pixels radius), framing, signing, re-sizing. And... voilá! |
