By this shot, I wish to end my short story about two small crab spiders, which live in our garden. This specimen has similar size and pictured only on an hour earlier than other crab spider presented as (Lord of Roses, Still the Lord).

To have an audience at the Lord of Roses it was necessary to me to pass as dangerous as wonderful gate of Lord Palace protecting by a true and courageous guard.

Many alive essences were lost, trying to get inside. I was more successful. I not only have remained the whole and safe, but also have had time to take a series of pictures. And you will make own conclusion how well they are captured.

Many thanks to Ken Slade (Ken52) for help with correct flower ID. Pictured flower is a flower of liana Campsis radicans.

A fine caption to the image, Alexei.
The Crab Spider standing at the entrance to the flower really looks like keeping a vigil.
Very eloquent, colourful image with a fantastic DOF.
Well done and regards.

Hello Alexei,

How nice to see you posting again!
This is a wonderful, detailed shot! The colour and textures of the flower petals are well conveyed. And then, there is the bonus of the lurking crab spider. His body looks almost transparent and catches the refection of the light! My compliments!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Alexei,
You couldn't present a sharper image of this Crab spider from this POV, the DOF allowing us to see not only the spider with great clarity, but the red flower that it is holding guard in with fine clarity (is it a Nasturtium?)
TFS this fine image,
Best regards,

Hello Alexei,
Not a Funnel Spider but a Crab Spider that's found itself a funnel!! It looks almost as if it is going to be swallowed by the flower! Brilliant capture with great focus on the spider against the beautiful red petals. Well done!
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Your final post in the series was the most dramatic.....which is how in movies, ending are usually happening. You build up with a crescendo on a minor key then finale in major key at forte! The drama is seen in the distinct deep red and the almost pearl white of the spider. It is a drama in images Alexei and you did a fine piece of art/photo lesson.
Bob

Bonjour Alex

Hi Alexei,

I'm so sorry to see this mini-series end. This crab spider, in all of its glorious detail, really does seem to be standing guard to the entrance of the beautiful flower. Beautiful colors, clarity, composition and concept. I love the workshop showing how lovely these flowers are.

Hi Alexei,
I lovely capture of this beautiful crab spider on the lovely flower. Superb details and a lovely composition. Thanks a lot for sharing. BTW I think the time problem is due to error configuration in time zone either in the camera or in the PC. But I am not sure. I have not faced any problems like this before. Hope somebody will help.

Hello Alexei,

The spider stands out really well against the deep red flower. I like the very natural perspective. As always, I love the precise focus, perfect exposure, and natural colors.

I do not know the answer to "shooting time" question.

I think the flower that you present here and in workshop is called "Trumpet Vine" (Campsis radicans).

hello my friend
wonderful macro photo of these two beautiful species
as usual, composition, POV, DOF, light, colours and sharpness are great

Nice shot with gorgeous colours, and sharply focussed.

Hi Alex!

It seems that you and this spider have become friends... This time it has to step a little bit back in order to give more importance to the flower. Considering that this flower is very beautiful and pleases espiacially because of the delightful colour, this was a good choice. I'm also impressed by the quality of the lighting and the depth of field. Concerning the composition, I would flip the picture and set the spider on the right in order to avoid the relative "emtiness" on the right (WS).

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Alexei,
You have written a great storyline, every image needs one to be deemed worthy by the Lord.
What could be more grand than to have an audience at the "Lord of Roses"?

To still have your wits about you enough to take this wonderful series is quite a feat.

And although many alive essences were lost, you have surely captured the magical essence within..
I see a book in your future :)
Be well,
Howard

Dear Alexei,
another impressing example of your skills to turn observations of nature into excitingly dramatic short stories. Excellent point of view, perfect handling of light and colours, and just the right depth of field with perfect details all over the hero while allowing thew depths of the blossom drift into soft distance. Great picture.
With thanks, and all my best wishes.
Peter

P.S.: Having just seen the workshop version supplied by Markus (Heaven): I do not really understand the reason why, but it does look even better than the unflipped version.
