[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture is from my first day with a new lens, the Canon 100-400L IS.
This picture is 100% crop of the frame, I did levels and USM in PS, I also used the Kenko extension tubes to help me with this macro, because the macro capabilities of this lens are not very good.
I hope you will enjoy this picture.

Wow, and what a first day!

Great picture, fantastic detail. Well done Elroyie.

Well, if this is a first try, it looks really promising ;-) Excellent details on the head and upper body, good colours. It looks like a darter, any idea which specific type of dragonfly it is?

Good capture David... more knowing than was your first firing with the lens.
I believe that the lack of focus in some areas must have relation with it.
The detail and size of the eyes are very good... I made a workshop, to try to correct the spot in one of them... I hope you like it.

Now I understand the compound eye for it is written ... "The compound eye consists of 12-1000 ommatidia, little dark/bright sensors" ... Amazing Macro Elroyie.

Good macro Elroyie.
Congrat to the new lens, it is great and
the ext. tubes works fine.
Nice colours and good details.
Is the IS working with the tubes ?
Well done.

Very nice one Elroyie,
Ther are a some thing I like on this super macro, the eye is super, the hairy life is super, and the looking through the wings I really like, you did a very good job here.

The lens combination seems to work very well, a lot of detail, even down to the dust on the hairs, the bright area is normal with dragonfly eye's and represents where the sun is . It lookks like a darter type if the body length was about 40cm long then it could be one of the white-faced darters (Leucorrhinia)

Great macro David
I just don't like that mark in the eye and I've done a WS to fix it.
Hope you like it

This is truelly sa lovely macro shot. The details are very sharp. I think the WS was a valuable ammendment to the photo.
