I do envy those of you who can get close to the waterfowls' young ones, ours are very protective of their offspring and shepherd them away as soon as we set foot in their area..
Newly-hatched coots are amongst the ugliest critters, but they're so ugly they turn cute ;-)
Nice and sharp capture of this family ensemble, good details in the blacks, only I wish the tail of the one on the right had been included in the photo.

Hello Pedro,

This is a very nice picture of a lovely family! :) About two metres from my house (in the ditch next to my house) there is a nest with 5 little Coots! :) They're growing rapidly and I'll try to take an update picture soon (I already uploaded one picture earlier to TN). your pitcure is good. Well composed and sharp details. I like the colors aswell. Maybe the whites are a little OE but nothing serious. TFS!

Une magnifique photo, Pedro. Il est intéressant de voir la frimousse toute rouge de ce bébé. Vous avez bien surmonté la difficulté de la prise de vue de ces oiseaux, dont le bec immaculé est souvent sur-exposé et le plumage anthracite sous-exposé! De plus, vous avez réussi cette prise sans les effrayer. Chez nous, ce sont des oiseaux très méfiants. Une très belle scène animale, très bien réalisée. Bravo!
