Granted, it is Yellowstone, an almost zoo-like atmosphere, but this big old bull wasn't about to be phased by my presence about 50 yards away. He was huge! The lat/long shows you where we were in the park at the time - heading north from Lake Yellowstone to Norris. The photo seems to lack color... those critiquing suggested I make the image larger... I'm not sure why it wasn't the 800 pixel width. Here it is re-posted - hopefully new and improved! Thank you for the pointers, people!

Awesome Kelly, well done. The larger image really does this guy justice. He is so amazing. The large image shows off his size very well.

Hi Kelly,

I've spent a lot of time in Yellowstone and photographed my share of bison, but this one is just monumental. His color does seem a little off and I couldn't tell you why. You might want to check to see if the image is in RGB color space or sRGB? Your camera is set for one or the other. If it is RGB then convert the image to sRGB in your image editing program before uploading to TN. That can make a big difference.

Hi, Kelly,

this is a more dramatic portrait than the one before. excellent capture of this big, strong bull - and it reminds me of the story "Beauty and the Beast" : P

thanks for sharing.

Hello Kelly,

I like the composition of this picture with all the greenery all around. Excellent low POV, DOF and focus. Very good light and natural colours.
Cheers,
Mariki

Oh he is a beauty Kelly. Next time when you repost you must leave the original there, but on the Manage page you press Re-Post and can then download the new image.

Do you have Photoshop or a similar post-processing software? Maybe a bit more contrast would give this scenery a bit more depth of colour.

But it is a good capture, and I just love how he's chewing his cud - I'm sure these animals must chew their cuds like cows do.
Well done
Janice
