Blue-and-yellow Macaw
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I photographed this couple having some fun at the Wildlife World Zoo in Phoenix, the best place to see Macaws in Phoenix.
The Blue-and-yellow Macaw (Ara ararauna), also known as the Blue-and-gold Macaw, is a member of the group of large Neotropical parrots known as macaws. It breeds in forest (especially varzea, but also in open sections of Terra Firme) and woodland of tropical South America from Trinidad and Venezuela south to Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay. It barely extends into Central America, where restricted to Panama. It is an endangered species in Trinidad, has probably been extirpated from western Ecuador, and is on the verge of being extirpated from Paraguay, but still remains widespread and fairly common in a large part of mainland South America. It is therefore listed as Least Concern by BirdLife International. |

Hi Everton.
Great shot of them sitting high above the water. With the slightly soft background it makes them stand out from the background and also gives us the environment view. Nicely done. Lovely exposure and good detail.
I checked your histogram on the image and it shows that the darker end should be in a little which gives a bit more depth to their colour and a slight contrast also defines the black lines on their faces and beaks. I'll pop it in a workshop for you so you can see the difference.
Great shot and well seen to show the character of them.

Beautiful shot Everton, of such colorful birds.
I like the composition and the relaxed pose you've captured.
Very sharp and detailed image with just the right amount of exposure for a sunny day. Very informative notes.

A pretty pair, Everton.
Though the colors of these birds are very attractive, I feel there is a little over-exposure here, resulting into slightly washed out appearance.
However, the image is well composed.
TFS and regards.
Olá amigo Everton.
Um belo casal de araras muito bem registrado por você!
Foto bem natural, com luminosidade adequada e perfeito enquadramento.
Acho interessante que a fidelidade é marca registrada desses animais.
Parabéns!
