Verbascum sinuatum (Scrophulariaceae), like most of the 21 Verbascum species we have here, blooms in late spring. Its flowers and stems are more spread then its North American and some European species, giving it the appearance of a “menorah” or a large candelabra, from which it derives its Hebrew names thru the Aramaic. It is quite common in many habitats.

The plant can grow to a height of about 100 cm; the flowers are about 15 to 25 mm in diameter.
