The American Kestrel is the most common falcon in the continental US. They are commonly 9 to 12 inches long. When nervous or agitated, they make a "klee-klee-klee" sound.
When perches are not available, kestrels "hover-hunt". Diet includes small birds, mammals and large insects. |
