Could that be a male Scarlet Skimmer, KV?
Well, I posted one some months back and your specimen resembles mine. You could check further.
It is a wonderful capture against the sky and the colours are beautiful.

Wonderful shot of this great looking dragonfly with such lovely colours and sharp details. Superb pose captured and against the blue sky as BG it looks fabulous. Very pleasing image. Excellent DOF, POV and composition.

Nicely composed picture of the beautiful dragon fly, I had shot similar red coloured dragon fle at Bangalore near Hebbal Lake,sorry can't help with ID.But very attractive dragon fly.TFS.
