Hello Paul,
Very beautiful photo with a excellent sharp focus on the first swallow. A nice second one in the BG. Great clear colours. Good composition.

Hirundo smithii. Both appear adults, so apparently they have both moulted the outer rectrices, or gone through wear.

It's not fun to capture these as they are quite small in size and in addition they have difficult blacks and whites...
Impossible to achieve sufficient depthvof field to get them both sharp as the amount of light was quite low. Surprised you got one with 5,6@1/250..with 400mm.
