Hi David,
First of all, welcome to TN!
I notice you are quite enthusiastic about nature photography. I'm sure you'd do well with it.
I have seen your first picture of this pretty Kingfisher. Unfortunately, the focus in that picture is not up to the mark. However, this one is much better.
Are you using any editing software? I believe we all need to do a bit of PP touching in digital photography.
I have done a Workshop on your picture, just to demonstrate that it helps. I used Photoshop CS3 for doing it.
Please remember that this workshop is not with the intent of citicizing you work; it is just to put across some idea for improving one's pictures. Hope you would not mind it.
