Mugimaki Flycatcher
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Mugimaki Flycatcher (Ficedula mugimaki - thanks to "cuckooroller" for the headsup) is reported to be a scarce northern winter visitor to these parts and found primarily in montane to sub montane regions.
This little fella measuring approx 13cm though shy that he is, was very obliging to pose for me over 2 days. He came so close that luckily I had an extension tube fixed to get this shot.

Phil,
You are probably right on the species. It would appear to be a second year male bird transitioning to adult.
However, the scientific binomen is Ficedula mugimaki!

Hello Phil,
Very beautiful photo of this flycatcher. I've looked for the ID, but it's very difficult.
Fantastic sharp details, great pose and splendid colours, also in the BG. Very good composition.
Regards,
Peter
