| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
The eagle owl, "buf/boof" in Farsi, is very widely spread around the world. Yet ever more seldom you have a chance to see this magnificent bird in freedom.
Only thrity years ago the Eagle Owl used to be a common sight in the mountains north of Tehran. Nowdays, it is only in capture where you can hope to photograph it.
Still, there is no enforced law to protect it. Nests in more quiet areas are still plundered and chicks are sold to uncaring people who then neglect the animal to death... |

Hallo Sam ,das ist schon , aber ich denke dass die Vogel einbischen traurig ist. war sie krank?....
Ali
Nice shot! You've captured this Eagle Owl nicely - I must admit I've never seen one in the wild myself. Occasionally I've been lucky enough to see Tawny Barn and Little owls, but never an Eagle. It's a shame that they aren't protected in your area, hopefully someone will do something before it's too late... Technically it's a nice capture, focus and DOF are good - my only slight nit is the bright area in the top of the image, it's thrown the rest of image into shadow. Anyway, well captured :-D
P.S. I've posted a Workshop for you which I hope you'll like!
P.P.S. Welcome to TrekNature!
