Hello Doug !
I wish you a very warm welcome to TN !
This is a wonderful picture, for 2 easons : first, the spider is gorgeous, with strange and unusual shape and colors. I had never seen this species before. Second, the technical quality of the picture is excellent. Sharpness, details, colors, POV, pose of the spider, everything is very pleasant. Maybe I wouldn't have put the spider in the middle of the picture, but rather in the right bottom corner, with more space above its head - but this is just my own personal opinion. The picture is wonderful as it is. Very well done !
Valérie.

Hi Doug,
Not a bad capture of this tiny Aussie import.
Looks like you had pretty bright sunlight to work in.I probably would have moved it into the shade I think for an easier shot.
I photographed a few of these around Pirongia and Honikiwi (near Otorahanga)a few years back and have posted a couple here on TN.
Now I'm in the South Island I don't see them anymore. They haven't reached here yet....or those Chinese Paper Wasps that are plaguing the NI now.Mind you,we've got plenty of other wasps in the beech forests.
I love these little spiders
They usually hang out underneath citrus leaves in the daytime.
Cheers & TFS
Steve

Nice shot of the strange looking spider. The colours look a bit desaturated because of the light, but that can be adjusted very easily by using the 'highlight' option in photoshop. Thanks for sharing the image of such an interesting looking spider.
