Hi all,

This is Ant-Lion ( Myrmeleontidae ) shot at Omkar Hills. here i used the forest cover as BG and the early morning sunlight at 45 Deg behind the subject as a Light source. And also used the fill in flash to highlight the details.

Antlions are a family of insects in the order Neuroptera with the scientific name Myrmeleontidae. There are about 2,000 species. Strictly speaking, the term "antlion" applies to the larval form of the members of this family, but while several languages have their own terms for the adult, there is no widely used word for them in English. Very rarely, the adults are called "antlion lacewings".

Hello Goutham,
I see we are neighbours!
A perfect macro of an Ant-lion, the sharpness and omposition being perfect but the lighting of the wings and body against the dark BG is the 'highlight' of this image,
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan

Hello Goutham,

Nice diagonally composition.
Good pov and details.
Fine natural colours.

Gert

Hi Goutham,

Awesome capture. Nice focus and superb background. Good macro.

Kedar

Hi Goutham!

I like your simple, yet very pleasant picture. The simplicity of the composition and the empty space around the main subject highlight the latter at best. Moreover, the lighting is superb and the perfect sharpness reveals rich details.

Kind regards

Markus

Hi Goutham,
skilfully composed presentation of this very fragile looking Ant-Lion Netwing perfectly highlighted by backlight and fill flash in front of a perfectly supporting almost uniformly drab green background.
"Morning sunlight at 45 Deg": at first I was shocked thinking you meant temperature centigrade - hopefully not, even at this time of the year :)
Small size (700 pixels heigth) and unnecessarily high compression of data (to less than 100K) have severely affected the quality of presentation, e.g. very hard steps of colour graduation in BG.
Skilfully made image of high aethetical appeal, coming with brief, well explaing notes. Thank you!
With best regards,
Peter

hello Goutham
very fine capture, the detail that usually you offer to us is lost, but the composition the BG and the colours creates one wonderful photo

Hello Goutham Bhai, Good one. Superb position. The composition in the angle is perfect and the glare on the wings is just amazing. Good sharpness. Ganesh

**am back**

Your subject stands really well with this dark green BG Goutham.
Good detail and POV here..
Well done & have a great day!

Very innovative and original experimentation with light that has resulted into this truly amazing picture of an Antlion perched diagonally on a stick, Goutham.
Of particular interest are those lovely wings raised almost vertically.
Overall, a very pleasant composition.
TFS and regards.
