[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello all friends,
exactly one month, I have been away from TN and your posts; since my field works in various parts of Turkiye.
In this period, I took many shots on various plants and animal groups. One of them Argynnis (Fabriciana) adippe (Rottemburg, 1775) - Büyük İnci [TR], High Brown Fritillary [EN] (LEPIDOPTERA: NYMPHALIDAE).

This beautiful butterfly ranges in all Palaeartric Regions, except for its northern parts. In Turkiye, it is found as two subspecies:
A. adippe adippe (Denis et Schitfermüller, 1775): Northern Turkiye (Amasya Ankara, Artvin, Bilecik, Bolu, Bursa, Erzurum, İstanbul, Kastamonu, Kırklareli, Kütahya Rize, Sivas, Sinop, Zonguldak, Ardahan, and Iğdır provinces),
A. adippe taurica Staudinqer, 1878: Southern Turkiye (Adana, Antalya, Hatay, Isparta, Konya, K.Maraş and Mersin, provinces).

It vertically ranges up to 3000 m a.s.l. and it prefers open areas.
Its flight period is June to August.

Lastly, I start to a new trip to NE and E Turkiye and so, I will be away from TN during most of July. I wish you wonderful days and holidays.

Welcome back from your travels. It's nice to see you posting again. You return with a very beautiful butterfly posed on a most interesting looking flower. A wonderful position showing off both sides of the wings. The colors and details of the pattern are excellent. I love the background and composition.
