Lasiommata megerahe The Wall is widely distributed but very rarely occurs in large numbers. Sometimes it is encountered in good numbers in small descrete colonies. Over the last ten to fifteen years it has declined substantially in many inland areas of central England and Northern Ireland and also appears to be declining in southern coastal localities with a slight spread into the north of Britain, probably due to global warming.
Sorry about the intruding blade of grass,this was the only shot of this declining species.
