Colias crocea. (Geoffroy, 1785)

I had the wrong Id. in this one, and Paulo Henrique had the amability of pointing out.

As I have to change all the info posted, I prefer to dedicate this post to Paulo and use the note he wrote in THIS photo of the same butterfly that he posted some time ago.

Hope you like!

Hello Felipe, great capture. Very well done to get these mating. I've never seen this butterfly before. The only critisism I have is that it is a shame that the head of the butterfly on the left is a little soft in focus, but that's easy for me to say now.

Well done.

Oh wow, this is good - as I suppose one butterfly also said to the other afterwards ;-))
Great capture with good sharpness and details and sufficient DOF to get all 4 antennae into the DOF range, nice colours.
I think they're the same as our yellow ones, and that Mogens has captured one, but I never have..

Felipe, indeed, a lovely shot.

Excellent and warm colors, great composition.

Dof is great too.

I still don't have an SLR camera, but it's great to check out you are already doing great things with yours.

I added your picture to a theme of mine.

Nice shot. Very good composition, perfect sharpness and colors.

Very clear, lovely and interesting photo, Felipe! The lighting is superb with darker background. Depth of field is very effective here. A very nice photo to gaze at!

Hello Felipe,

Congrats on the new camera! I hope you like it as much as I do. :) It's a wonderful photo. What a pose and what a composition; perfect. Great colors and sharp details. The foucs on the head of the left butterfly is indeed a wee bit soft, but that's a minor nit. Well done & TFS!

Regards,
Pieter

Such a GREAT shot!
The mating of this species!
What a lucky one!
5* photo and favourite!
Excelente details and sharpness!
I think it's a Colias crocea (Geoffroy, 1785).
In Europe we haven't the C. interior.
We have nine species of Colias, but not the C. interior.
The european specie foodplants are:
Trifolium, Medicago, Onobrychis, Lotus, Coronilla, Melilotus, Hippocrepis, Astragalus and other Fabaceae.

Hello Felipe, Great work, Very good sharpness in your b-fly rt. Perfect light and colors in a very pleasant setting. Well done!

Very good macro, nicely composed and good light Felipe, its like a mirrored image. Interesting to see how butterfly's mate. F13 would have brought both into focus, its what I prefer for most macro shots unless I desire a shallow DOF. Nice work.

A butterfly was already indeed but two, that likes of the miracle! There is a marriage of colours with the eyes of the butterflies and the environment everything in green. Excellent shot!

Un papillon était déjà bien mais deux, ça tient du miracle! Il y a un mariage des couleurs avec les yeux des papillons et l'environnement tout en vert. Excellente capture!
