Since Evelynn is posting these summer flower photos I couldn't stay behind and post one I captured while standing at Hat Point, a great viewing point to see Hells Canyon.

To get to hat Point is a journey on its own. A dirt road starts at the town of Imnaha and after 24 miles of a twisting dirt road you get to your destination. Hat Point, 6,982 feet high, and balanced on the west edge of Hells Canyon, overlooks the deepest gorge in North America. The Snake River, elevation 1,276 feet, and Idaho's Seven Devils Mountains, over 9,000 feet in elevation, are both visible from the vantage of Hat Point. Hat Point was named after a cowboy on an unruly horse that lost his hat and couldn't find it until a year later on a branch of a tree overhanging the gorge.

Hi Niek,

Fantastic landscape with flowers. Very clear capture - most probably You didn't have wind - with 1/6, and the overall panorama is simply stunning. Elegant and artistic image. I bookmark it as one of my favorite photos - this tells more than words.

Congrats for this superb shot, and of course tfs MF. Have a nice weekend, best regards, László from Hungary

Gee... while I was busily trying to get another flower image ready to post, you posted this one. : ) Yours looks nice and sharp. Obviously you weren't fighting wind with 1/6 shutter speed. Also you seem to know right where to focus. What's taking me so long is cleaning my glasses, staring at the image, calling Jerry to tell me if it is sharp enough for Niek and generally being frustrated because I really can't tell how sharp it looks. $#@&*!

The bits of orange paintbrush among the lupine is quite lovely. I especially like the dew drops. We have Hat Point on our list to visit this fall. We've heard the autumn colors are nice there though I don't see much there that would produce fall colors???? What do you think?

Ok. I am going to post mine now. Take off your glasses! : )

Hi Niek,
When I first saw that thumbnail, I thought it was an Evelynn picture.
Turns out it is because you are both showing the beauty of Oregon.
Lovely scene with excellent POV and composition.
TFS. : )

Hi Niek!

I like the wide angle and the vertical composition with beautifull flowers in the front- which are of course the main subject of this picture:) very good balance between dark and light areas, even a water drops can be seen on the leaves- small but nice bonus for the view. Good work.

Cheers
Adrian

Hello Niek

to have the possibility to rule the world it would be great, to be able to know and to visit places that till now we have known only through your wonderful photos. Beautiful this field of flowers that covers the until our sight reach. Optimally balanced for colors and for the light. Really an optimal job.

Hi Niek
A superb composition showing this stand of lupins. The trees on the horizon and the dark cloud really add to the atmosphere.

Hallo Niek,

Gert

Lovely image from this beautiful part of Oregon Niek.
Excellent detail, depth, colors, and exposure.
You've always had an eye for the shot, it's nicely composed.
Thanx for the info on how/where you got the shot too.
It reminds me of me..
I'm regularly mis-placing things, only to find em' later in the strangest places ;-}
Have a great Sunday,
Howard

Hello Niek!
Simple composition but very nice final effect. I like low POV and "deep view" for the mountains. Colours are also very nice and optimistic (excluding some small dark cloud in right corner).
Greetings from Lodz,
Radomir

Ah lupin fields! Your DOF is well executed Niek. A one stop grad here might have been useful to give a darker more saturated sky, but overall this is a lovely image.

Hello Niek,
That's really a pleasure for the eyes. And you have taken this picture from an excellent point of view, our eyes can travel over the flower-field to the mountains in the back to reach finally the sky. I like especially the very fine composition and the subtle colors of this shot.
Very well seen and done
Thanks alot
Kind regards
Anne

Wow Niek...i am really jealous right now!
I've been watching and enjoying wild flowers shots from North America for quite some time now and i could only dream of the time i'll go there again and actually make a good use of my camera...and your shot here is an even more boost to make me want to do that as soon as possible.

This is a superb shot! The lupines make outstanding flowers for FG elements, especially when you have so many of them. The mountains in the distance and the clouds also look very nice, although they make me wonder what this place would be like a few meters ahead (to better sea the canyon) and perhaps even at sunrise and sunset :) Sorry...my imagination runs wild when i see beautiful places like this :)
As Evelynn already said, the small details like the dew drops really add a lot to the overall shot and i'm certain that they would be a delight of this would be printed big for everyone to admire.
Wonderful work, my friend!

Bravo and TFS
Horia

Ciao Niek. A magnificent focused and contrasted landcape in good saturations and light's management. Intresting sky too. Very well done.

Hi Niek,
I dont want to over comment your lovely presentation. But the beauty is so captivating and very touching. there is some aura of calmness and peacefullness in this presentation.
I never experience this landscape, i feel like rolling and rolling into it. Crawling and crawling to feel the freshness and the undescribeable sight.
Beautiful and so pretty.
thanks for this landscape.

Regards,
Foozi
