Info on the Osprey

Although having taken better "nature" photos of this Osprey along with two others, I decided to post this one because of the almost comical look on it's face. In the past two days I have spotted four of the magnificent raptors on the Island. Maybe they will winter here or possibly continue their migration South. Time, and luck, permitting, I would like to photograph one as it plucks a fish from the water.

The wind is blowing around 25-30 knots causing the head feathers to ruffle...

Hello Jim,
a superb portrait of the Osprey taken with very good sharpness and splendid colours, i also prefer the WS with a marvellous natural environment, but in this one the intense eye contact is very good.

A very funny shot! I see that the bad hair look concerns not only human beings..Good idea to post it! At the end I prefer a very vivid shot to a most perfect, but dull presentation.
