Info on the Great Egret

Intermediate in size between the larger day herons and the smaller egrets, the elegant, stately Great Egret, in its dazzling white plumage, is widely recognized in North America and elsewhere. In the Western Hemisphere, the decimation of populations of this species and other wading birds during the early twentieth century by overhunting helped spark the formation of conservation and environmental organizations, as well as of laws protecting these birds. Indeed, the Great Egret is the organizational symbol for one of the oldest such groups in the United States, the National Audubon Society.

Hello Jim,
a very fine shot of this taking off.
It is well placed in the frame with a nice diagonal of the wings. You did well with the exposure, we can see lot of details in the white plumage.
Very fine work.

Hi Jim. This is a fine close up of the Egret just taking off. We can still see water droplets leaving the feet. your POV gives us a fine view of the large open wings. Good detail in the feathers. all with natural colours. well Taken TFS.
