[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This butterfly has very attractive nether wings -- Orange, black, and white. The upper open wings are a combination of brown/black and orange. It is rare to see it with its wings open. I have posted numerous pictures of it on TN with its wings closed -- an aspect that people have found more attractive than this one. Anyway, here it is, and I leave it to you to judge whether you find this aspect too of some interest.

The Red Pierrot (Talicada nyseus) is a small but striking butterfly found in South Asia and South-East Asia belonging to the Lycaenids or Blues family. Red Pierrots, flying weakly around and perching on the Kalanchoe plant, can be seen in gardens and attract people due to their beautiful striking patterns and colours.
The butterfly with a wing span of 3 to 3.5 cm. The upper side of its wings are black except for a large portion of the lower edge of the hind wing which is orange.

On the underside, the forewing is white with black spots more toward the margin. The hind wing is very striking, it is white with black spots toward the base and the margin has a wide band of orange with white spots. There is a lot of variation found in the blacks spots on the hind wings.

Dear Thakur Sir,

Wonderful macro capture of the lovely red Pierrot with wonderful details!
I like the sharpness and POV here with great natural colors. A great contrast can be seen between the orange-brown colored butterfly and the bright green colored leaves.

Nice composition!

best regards,
Paras

Dear Ram!

Your picture is very pleasant, it's so colourful and I particularly like the shape of the leaves that seem to be created to serve as a support for the butterfly. Both, the leaves and the butterfly, are in perfect harmony.

Kind regards

Markus

This is a lovely one, Ram, I like to see this one sitting with open wings, the orange is so warm and beautiful.
Thanks

Hallo Ram
Wonderful detail captured on this beautiful Red Pierrot. One cannot believe how the inner and outer side of its wings differ in colour and markings. God has indeed created some wonderful insects, animals and birds only to mention a few, and the butterfly in your image is just once again proof of the wonderful Creation. Great image with great detail and just right composition. Thanks for sharing. Best regards.

i have always wanted to capture red pierrot with open wings. it has my fav color combination and hardly any other butterfly shows such a plain dark black and a plain bright red color combination. this is nicely captured on a bright green - another contrasting colorful background. tfs!
