Finally two in a Good Light
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Finally two in a Good Light is the title for todays upload.I have seen a fair number of Green Winged Teal ducks in recent years but until today I never had much luck getting good photos of them as the light was poor or the birds a little out of reach for good details.I was surprised to see these two drakes and made the most of my opportunity to photo them.I can't remember seeing this species around so late in the year but yet there they were. The light was very fine and the air clear today and I was out in the morning and in the afternoon to look in on the slough where these two fellows were photoed. In the morning the whole of the slough was covered in paper thin ice and by the time of this shot many areas had become ice free.Ducks must have the best insulation imaginable for the water they were in must be very cold but the ducks did not seem to mind in the slightest.I hope you enjoy the sight of these two rather wary Green Winged Teal ducks who are decked out in their breeding plumage finery.

Hi Bob
Not only did your dream come true (2 in one shot), but you made the best of it with this fabulous shot and to crown it all they are showing their breeding plumage as well. I just like it. The ducks shows excellent details and lovely colours while the blue surrounding water created a fabulous BG. It really makes the ducks stand out and place focus and emphasis on the subject. Congratulations with a great capture.
Well done and TFS.

Hello Bob,
Indeed very beautiful light. Last year I made a photo of this species and had the same problem, bad light. The colours in this photo are splendid. Excellent sharpness and details. Good POV and DOF.
Regards,
Peter

Hi Bob,
Beautiful light indeed.
And the green winged teals are so handsome. I have only seen them once.
It is true that they tend to hang far out, so hard to get.
You managed a nice capture of these two. Great job!
TFS. : )
