Superb picture, congratulations.

Henry

Its a very good capture Bulent.
I love the POV (point of view).
The plant is interesting too.
Do you know what it is?

Hello Bulent,
great macro shot of a colourful dragonfly.
Nicely focussed on it's face with lot of details.
Wonderful POV, compo, DOF, BG and colours.
Well Done.

Renkleri, netliği ve kompozisyonu ile şık bir macro.Tebrikler..Selamlar..

I will agree with you they can be very difficult to capture, as steve says the POV is very good and the area in focus is sharp and well coloured. For me it would do with a bigger DOF (depth of focus/field to bring the wings and tail in also.
From the way it is holding it's wings it is a male Sympetrum / Darter of some sort though not sure which type sorry.

Hi!

i like this front view. i have photo 2 specimens from the same species last days alt the Black Sea litiral from lateral and dorsal view but not succes with front view.

it is an Orthetrum coerulescens, almost sure (see discussion)

now i'm 99% sure that this is Orthetrum ramburi (from books Ort.coerulescens is not present in Turkey fauna).

10x Paul.

nice.

Hi Bulent, I think this is a lovely capture. I suspect the focus point was at the abdomen rather than the eyes which is why the DOF becomes so critical here. You have a beautifully out of focus background, a great POV (I think its both unusual and very effective) and wonderful colours. It's a lovely image, well done :)
