Robber fly.
Capable of immobilizing bees, wasps and other insects larger than itself, robberflies catch their prey in mid air. As with other aerial predators, robberflies have excellent vision, characterized by two conspicuous compound eyes. The mouthparts of this family have been modified to a stabbing proboscis.
Most individuals have a favourite spot to which they return after a kill.
Flies were revered by the ancient Egyptians who awarded a military honor in the form of a golden fly pendant.

Hi Christos, very nice capture. The details are pretty good and I like the intimacy of it. For me I would rotate the picture 90 deg ACW as I think this would give it a little more impact and looking at this I find myself craning my neck to get a better view. The focus and details are great and congratulations on capturing this moment.
