[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Oleander Hawk-Moth (Daphnis nerii) is one of the spectacular moths in Israel and Europe. It is a big moth (Wingspan - 12 c"m) that migrate from Africa to Israel at early summer. In late summer it can be found also in Europe. The female lay her eggs on Oleander and Vinca. The large caterpillar (about 10 c"m) is green with big two eyespots behind the head.

This picture was taken at completely dark night with camera flash.

What a beautiful pattern this moth has! Excellent sharpness and color. Good work!

What a camouflage!! Like a soldier .This's really beautiful! It's like a ( long ) eared elephant which is looking at you. TFS Emin

Very beautiful indeed!
One of the most beutiful moths!
It belongs to the Sphingidae Macroglossinae family.
They caterpillars could be also brown and they are very beautiful too. They feed also on other plants like: Acokanthera, Gardenia, Carissa, Rauwolfia, Taberna, Mangifera and Adenium multiflorum.
Great shot!

That is a stunning moth, Oz. What beautiful colors and patterns... and it is huge. Fantastic camouflage, makes me think of the military. Very sharp details, good lighting with the flash. Well done and TFS. : )

Niesamowite ubarwienie motyla. Bardzo mi się podoba. Trochę jak dla mnie za małe zdjęcie i troche za ciemne.

This is a very nice capture.
I've not seen this moth before,it looks like it's wearing army kit!
Nice lighting and good sharp detail.
Well done.

Hi Oz. beautiful image, lovely colour and shapes. If possible I would have rotated the camera to set the moth at more of an angle but that is a minor nit (and is something I forget to do myself all the time!). Sharpness, detail and colour are wonderful. Beautiful shot :)
