I think you got the Ident right though other might put me right ;0)) its female by the way only the female has the sword which is an ovipositor.
good find nice composition if a little soft of focus and loosing some of the antenae. thank you for keeping your eyes open and sharring the results

Very nice capture - Are you sure it wasn'nt trying to remove the manhole cover? The shot contains a lot of detail - unfortunately the antenae.

I am sure you have got the name right Michael - we have them here in Denmark too (though I have never seen one yet) and according to my books it is a Meconema thalassinum.
I know it is a hard job to get these critters sharp and clear and I think you did a good job even I have to agree with Robert about the focus.

Michael, a nice shot with a great composition.
Maybe the soft focus could be improved with some USM.
I like the pose too.
