[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I spotted this cricket today in my garden, sitting on a manhole cover and after some research i think i have found out its proper name.
Meconema thalassinum (DeGeer, 1773) (Oak Bush Cricket).
If this is incorrect please let me know.

Very nice capture - Are you sure it wasn'nt trying to remove the manhole cover? The shot contains a lot of detail - unfortunately the antenae.

I am sure you have got the name right Michael - we have them here in Denmark too (though I have never seen one yet) and according to my books it is a Meconema thalassinum.

I know it is a hard job to get these critters sharp and clear and I think you did a good job even I have to agree with Robert about the focus.

Nice cricket, Michael. Never see it before.
A little soft but still a good picture.
Thanks

Michael, a nice shot with a great composition.

Maybe the soft focus could be improved with some USM.

I like the pose too.
