[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello friends, i was decided to not
post this photo because for a world
of DSLRs this photo it is missed

but this photo it is shot with my
Nikon Coolpix L3 (Dpreview page)
and for that camera this a a good shot

I was decided to not post this photo
this is a missed photo shot under
bad light conditions with a camera
that has a much much smaller sensor
if we compare with DSLRs BIG sensors

i was decided to not post this photo
until i have received a critique and
a very good critique that i give him
entirely reason to our friend SunToucher
when for my previous photo he is writing :

« The subject is not in focus and the
BG is just not pleasant to look at »
and
« I don't think the result is great. »

what is writing he has reason but it
is more for a DSLR, if i would have
a DSLR and had shot that same photo
of my previous posting or today's photo
yes « they are not pleasant to look at »
but for my small camera with his small
very small sensor the photos that i am
doing and presenting they are GREAT shots

probably i am a crazy guy because with
a camera that i can not choose the ISO,
the white balance, the shutter speed,
the aperture, with a camera that does
not have viewfinder i am trying to do
wildlife photos i am trying to do
small bird in-flight photos and i am
posting my photos in a world of DSLRs

i wish one day i will have a DSLR or
a micro4/3 (Lumix G3) and will improve
my in-flight photos, in the field there
are friends that have Canon 7D, Canon 50D,
Nikon D300 they told me it is time for you
with the kind of photos you are doing to
pass to a DSLR, unfortunately i don't have
budget for that kind of camera

From now to September I was to buy once again
compact camera but with today's technology
i decide to nod do it, i decide to wait
and one day probably next year i will
have put enough money by side to can
buy a DSLR, Nikon D5100 ? Canon 600D ?
Lumix G3 ? or Sony A33 ? (coming A35) ?

Until that day when i will have
the DSLR camera i am dreaming
i am a crazy guy trying to do wildlife
and bird in-flight photos with my
Nikon Coolpix L3 pocket camera and post
missed photos in a world of DSLRs

The birds of my photo are Wood Ducks

Merci

Asbed

Hin Asbed,
I read your reply and this note, but now I am lost. I do not understand why you think this photo is missed. In my opinion this is a good photo. The two logs frame the group of ducks perfectly. All elements are in focus and sharp. The exposure is correct and the colors look real. The lighting conditons were actually perfect. A bright sunny day would not have worked for this type of photo.

Honestly, I think that you reasoning that a DSRL would do so much better is going to disapoint you when you do get one. 80% is still the photographer, 20% the camera.

Regards,
Niek

Hi Asbed,
Very lovely picture of these wood ducks, wonderful nature scene, great captured! not bad at all for your small camera!
I can understand what you means about the camera equipment, what I think is the person who behind the camera that created good image not a camera but not doubt about the good camera would help to get better result,
Thanks for sharing and have a nice evening,
Best Regards,
Bungbing.

Hi Asbed,
I like this photo. I like these four horizontal lines (two of them are birds). It looks like a conoes race :)
Great point of view. Amazing natural colours. Especially I like these family with small ducks.
Have a nice Sunday,
Maciek

Hi Asbed,

I read your note and was very interesting reading, in my humble opinion i think this is one of your best images to date, a DSLR bigger sensor camera would not improve this image much more, i totally agree with Bungbing and Niek, That its the person behind the camera that matters most, the camera only records what the user sees and what you have seen here Asbed is superb, Now keep up the good work,
Congratulations and have a nice Sunday,
Best Regards,

Pauly.

Beautiful scene and impressive photo Asbed! The composition and the lighting are excellent.

Hallo Asbed,
Amicalement
Maurizio

Hello Asbed,
This is a fine shot, competing well with the quality of a DSLR.
The composition showing the female Wood Duck and her family with the two males beyond her is great, taken with fine sharpness and natural colours on the rippled water surface.
Thanks and best regards,
Ivan

Salut Asbed!
aNa

Hello Asbed,
I don't see what's wrong at this photo. It's a very nice photo in good sharpness and beautiful natural colours. Lovely ripples on the water. Excellent composition.

Peter

Ciao Asbed, I take my best photo with a little analogic camera, don't worry, a good photographer cad take fgood photos with a little camera as you, I like this family composition and I like your inflight bird, quality may be bettere with a more expansive camera, but there is not important, my friend, photographer, not camera take good photo, excuse for my bbad english, ciao Silvio

Hello Asbed,
Hello my dear "crazy guy who takes pictures of wildlife with compact cameras" :) !... I can tell your photos are excellent! ... including those that do not "in flight " (because you do "in flight" are exceptional works of magic). I also have years (and I no budget too) dreaming with a DSLR, but will be when God willing! ... The important thing is to keep doing the best with the camera we have! ... I think that your works have "own and defind space in TN" and all much appreciated by us! Good job! ... Ducks are cute little ones and adults magnificent!
Regards, TFS
Jesús

Hello Asbed,

very nice composition with good of sharpness.
Fine colors, this time nothing wrong.

Gert

Hi Asbed. The lighting is good because the saturation levels throughout the picture are perfectly clear. You got a great shot. I looked up the mother duck and I see it's the female Wood Duck. It looks a little like a Mallard. Very kool interesting shot! TFS Trevor

Bonjour Asbed,
Bonne semaine
Amicalement
Anne

Lovely shot of this colourfull birds, great sharpness and very good POV

Hola Asbed,

Hello Asbed,
What a beautiful image you have here. To be able to capture two drakes and a hen with her chicks is amazing. I have a hard time just getting close to one of these beautiful Wood Ducks here in Ohio, let alone get a shot like this.
The composition is great, the detail is excellent and the fact that you managed to get all in sharp focus is outstanding. Super work!!
Ron

I am happy that you have decided to post this wonderful view my friend Asbed. So peaceful and looks undisturbed by human interference. Beautiful tranquil view and I like it.
Thanks for sharing,
