Man oh man! This is excellent! So close, so sharp, so well exposed and such lovely colors. Well composed too. What a shot. How do you mount the tripod so fast? ... If I use a tripod the insects will be up, up & away before I am ready to shoot. How on earth do you manage such shots? Well done & TFS!

and WOW nice.
the ID is wrong.i don't know the species butr i'm sure that are from the Conopidae family (before considered part of the Sirphydae family-hoverfly). The genus is probably Conops.

Excellent picture, sharp and well lighted as usual. I like the POV, and the macro is fantastic.
But it is not a wasp at all, it is a fly (Diptera), belonging to the family conopidae.
Those are endoparasites of bumblebees and other hymenoptera (Bees or wasps).
Perhaps Conops quadrifasciata, but I wouldn't swear to it.

As we say here, l'amour, toujours l'amour. Nature is really a fantastic source of life facts. This is one of the most exxpressive one I've ever seen, specially due to the detailed insects bodies and the great precision in the details. No nits, Gert, this image couldn't be better. They have a powerful instinct, but you have powerful eyes :-). Congratulations.
