The back garden nature again.

It is a Drone Fly, Eristalis tenax, thanks too Philippe Moniotte!

An other crop of the same picture here. See the top view too with a bee! Here

Bonjour Hendrik,
Magnifique insect sur cette fleurs jaune. Très belle composition, et belles couleurs.
Par contre pas de grains sur le fond sans doute dû à l'agrandissement, cela reste un superbe cliché.

Wonderful picture to demonstrate that... this is not a bee. You can see all the relevant details quite clearly : only two wings, very big eyes meeting at the top of the head, no jaws, very short antennae. This is a Drone Fly, Eristalis tenax, male. You can even see the two lines of dark hair that cross the eyes vertically - typical of E. tenax.

A little lacking in clarity and sharpness.
But this is beautifully composed with fantastic colours.

hij is mooi Hendrik
en inderdaad je hebt de beste compositie hier. goede kleuren, hij lijkt me een beetje oversharped maar hier kan ik goed mee leven. Goed werk.

Hi Hendrik!
I don't have enough time to write a decent comment ;) but the big smiley is, no doubt, well deserved here :)

//Superb POV and very beautiful colours//

Hi Hendrik. Very good shot. Great POV and very good details. Excellent colours.

Hendrik,
This is a nice shot but what happened to the BG ?
Do you apply neatimage .... seem that the setting add noise spot !

Love the tight composition and POV on this macro. There is some issues with the image quality though. You should have reduced this post to 650 pixels to compensate. 6/10 well done.

Excellent composition! It is a bit noisy though and saturation and/or contrast are a too high, which takes away the photorealistic feeling. I love the POV which is very well chosen!

Gabi
