I thought to make a bit of a change from all the bird images I have posted. The next few posts will be of mammals.

Habits: Form herds of 6 - 20 and occasionally much larger. Batchelor and breeding herds can be distinguished.

Food: Leaves and grass. Drink water daily if available.

Distribution: North and North-eastern parts of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana.

Shooting Data: Nikon D70, Sigma 170-500mm set at 360mm.
ISO: 400
A: f9.0

Beanbag used.
Postprocessing done with Coral Photopaint.

I like your impalas near the water. Nice composition. Good DOF. Pretty attitude of the impala in the front.

Lovely image of an animal we don't see here. You caught the lighting just right and have a most appealing photo.

If your biltong tasted as good as theirs, you would have been paranoid. Excellent shot and I like the setting and composition.

Thanks for posting - Where did you take this?

Ben, Very nice peaceful setting for your shot. Looks like they must take turns keeping that look-out! Like the comp./frame with just the right amount of foreground/water present. Beautiful specimans. Great work!

Great picture Ben
Good compo , nice colours and good details.
I like the light too.
Well done.

Good illustrative shot of these antelopes, colours, reflection and background are all spot on, and I like the watchful alert look on the front one.

A great shot.
Fabulous lighting and detail and a great pose from the Impala.
Effective PP work too.
Excellent,very well done.

Very nice composition. The grass and wtaer at the bottom adds a nice touch. The fur effect is unreal. Very nicely done Ben. I like this a lot. TFS.

Excellent Ben! It's a fantastic shot, very well done. Really nice work.

Points tomorrow - I'm out of tokens.

Very good composition with good lighting. I can’t beleave there isn’t more postings of Impala, as they are so common when you visit places like the Kruger.
