This photo was taken at the Rhino and Lion Reserve near Muldersdrift, just outside of Johannesburg.
During weekends the lions are fed at 13:00 every Sunday, which means that they show up there like clockwork.
This was taken at 500mm (750mm on the D100) and due to the bright light I underexposed by -0.3EV. |

Wow, it must have been something to watch these big cats eat their meal! You did a very good job with the esposure, and the composition is great. Nice and sharp with great colour.

The "earthy" tonal range makes that red flesh pop out of the screen. I like the action and the low subject placement in the frame. Nice one. I have been ther eonly once but am dying to go there again for some vultures.
