This is the grey heron which is quite common in middle Europe. They will fish wherever there is something to catch - even the goldfish out of your garden rockpool. This particular one has its favourite fishing spot in a small brook about 50 meters from a major road and only ten meters from a path through a park. He is usually not easily disturbed by by-passers, but I think he felt my camera was scaring the fish away, so he got angry and flew off after a few shots.

Super light,very nice details and beautiful composition.

Per Hoj, I agree with Ricardo - good frame & perspective here. Also agree that this scenes mix of light & shadow is pleasing, Nice capture!

Bonita composicion Per con la típica postura de acecho de estas hermosas aves.

I like this picture. Many good colors and we feel the concentration of the heron.
I try for a long time to shot a heron as well as this but here in Quebec, they are a little bit more nervous. So, I have to work whit a camera like the Olympus 740Z...

I don't know why birds do that. I think it's the sitting still bit that scares them off.
Great, sharp and nicely composed picture.
I like it a lot.

The light seem to be unsuitalbe, however photo is great. well done. Nice colors and clear vision.
