In the desert, some strange plants grow between rocks and huddle up when there is no rain.
They are called fatima's hand. (I don't know why except the fact they look like a hand) |

Very nice, this plant is also called "Rose of Jericho" (Anastatica hierochuntina). It is annual, and when dry, like in your picture, it has lots of seeds inside. If rain comes the whole plant opens and the seeds are dispersed and germinate. Its a natural rain clock, below 10 mm it will not open. Thanks, Ori
