Name: Boletus queletii
Family: Boletaceae

A not so often encountered bolete, (at least here in Romania), medium sized; 6-12 cm wide cap, velvety, brown-redish-orangeish colored. Red pores, turning blue when touched. Stem brown-yellowish, at the base becoming dark purple. The flesh is yellow, turning blue when cut.
Likes deciduous forests, in slightly open areas and clearings.
B. queletii is an edible bolete but is not so common and one probably can't find enough of them for an entire meal. Better mixed with other boletes. Sometime B. queletii is hard to identify, could be confused with other non-edible bolets or even poisonous (B.satanas, B.lupinus). However it has som specific characteristics that helps to be told apart from the other mentioned above. One would be that the flesh is tasty, bolete-like sweet; the other two have a bitter taste.

Belles couleurs et bon cadrage.

Hi Petru.
Nice POV, colours and details for this specie, but I like it a bit cleaner. To many objects are beteewn the lens and the subjects for my personal taste. I always take a little scissors with me when I go to the forest :)
Otherwise a good capture. Thanks for posting.

Very tasty family Petru ;-) I like composition with fungi, grass, leaves of strawberry. Nice, joyfull colours and light. White part on left side FG is little disturbing, but rest looks great.

Nice mushrooms. The overexposed things in the foreground are very annoying and you should get rid of them.
Very interesting note.
Best greetings,
Michal
