I took this photo on a recent trip to Piedmont Park. The autumn colors were beautiful and I have posted many of the shots from that day on TN. I promise I'll move on to winter shots soon, LOL!
Any suggestions as to why it is so difficult to get the file size small enough on the autumn shots? Is it because the colors are so vivid? I am losing a lot of quality when I try to downsize it, unsharp mask doesn't seem to help much. Any advice would be most welcome. |

Hello Alli!
Very nice landscape.Autmn colors,POV,fram,ng and composition are wonderful.TFS..:-)
Hi Alli,
Before making any other comments, I just want you to know that I am still singing this land is your land..etc..etc...in my head.( Love that song) So I am glad you did not theme this beautiful fall shot to any songs. Snow flurries and 0 wind chill, so I'll just enjoy your warm and lovely scene.
Scott
Hi Alli,
I think you will suffer some quality loss with such a detailed and colourful image, you can mail me the original if you like, and I'll have a play with it..
Anyway, another great autumn shot from you.
Thanks for posting, have a splendid night....
Your friend from the land of no drinking at the footie yesterday!!!

Hi Alli!
Still in automn picture?
Exposure and focus are good, but I not so sure about your composition. We barely see what is behind and we barely see the front tree. I would have moved back and made the front tree more important.
About file size? I beleive it because there is so many small details (leaves) that make large file. Usually images with large uniform surface like sky and flat water compress very well. I did a workshop for Janice this morning of a white peacock, and there was so many feathers that I had a hard time to compress it also.
Sorry I can't score toninght, I have no more point.
Here are the points as promised.
