[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot was taken at the Rhino and Lion park. They keep the lions in a separate camp to the buck because the there is not enough space for them to co-exist.

The male lion was very sleepy and passive when we found him lying next to the road. So much so that we got to about 2-3 meters from him (in the car of course). Good thing they had a feast about an hour and a half earlier. If it was hungry I bet we would not have been able to get so close.

Apparently Lions and Tigers have been cross bred in captivity. (not sure why people would want to do this)

Very nice pic.
The composition is excellent.
He looks peaceful.

Baie mooi

The compo is fine and the wind in the face adds extra interest. The light was not favourable at the time you took the shot resulting in a distracting dark shadow on the FG. A bit more details of the eyes would have added an extra appeal to the capture. Well done.

Nice note. I like your depth of field in the image. I would have liked to see all of the Lion but there may have been a reason you composed the image this way.
