I was taking some pictures on Getúlio Vargas avenue, of the main avenues here. This tree is one of the biggest and old in town, and is right in front of a traditional school. Despite all this action, some birds can be seen at the site. Of them is this “joão-de-barro”.
I must tell you that, in order to take this picture, I needed the collaboration of a guy whose name I don’t know: I was waiting for the bird to leave his home when this guy came to me and started doing some noises with his fingers and mouth, as if “calling” the little bird – what really worked.
The man who called the bird lives in the country, and he told that if I go to the region where he lives (near Varjão de Minas), I’ll get great shots. If I go, you’ll know. |

La foto esta un poco fuera de foco y la luz no es muy buena, pero tiene valor científico pues es un pajaro extraño. En la costa norte del Perú, en los bosques del desierto hay un ave parecida, construye sus nidos con barro y saliva, es un caso especial de ingenieria animal.
Tu nota es muy curiosa, ojala puedas viajar...y yo tambien : )
