I took this photo on a recent trip to the Japanese Gardens in Portland. The blue in the feathers really vaught my eye and I love the vibrant colour.

Very nice selection for your first posting. I'm kinda partial to birds and this is a pretty one!
Usually a tighter crop is nice, but in this case you have shown the birds environment nicely, and IMO it works well with this shot...:)
I'll be looking forward to future shots...
