[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the Western Brushtail Possum, (Trichosurus vulpecula) a marsupial herbavore found throughout Australia and Tasmania. The newborn spend around 5 months in the mothers pouch, suckling on her teet before moving onto their mothers back and then eventually dispersing.

What a cute baby possum. I have never seen one of them before. I like the way it is perching on his mother's back. Great catch and TFS. : )

You know the Gilbert's Potoroo reminds me of the slow extinction of the South American Chinchilla (photos on treklens). They make fun pets...
