They are by now few in Europe the places where for kilometers and kilometers the presence of the man and a solo it doesn't exist in italy: the new National Park of the Gennargentu. Already from the name it is realized what the territorial variety of this zone that understands is in fact the thick one of the Gennargentu, the tallest of the island, big part of the Barbagia and the Supramonte. The park represents therefore wildest and remote Sardinia of the mountains, throats and plateaus in many almost inaccessible points, surely one of the more intact natural districts of the whole basin of the Mediterranean.
On the cliffs that lean out on the sea they nest unmolested the Regina's hawk, the wandering hawk and the rare eagle of the Bonelli. Going up again her 'codule', the beds of the seasonal streams that flow on small desert little beaches, sometimes true and propnie throats it invaded from the oleanders, are penetrated in the inside. Here it reigns uncontested, with the secular cespuglionis of juniper sabino, the densest Mediterranean stain where wild boars, mufloni, foxes, hares and the rare Sardinian weasel are hidden.
The Supramonte, thick calcareous highland of well 50 square Km, is a pò the heart of most severe Sardinia, dam and inaccessible.
Here one are found some most impressive Italian throats, that of On Gorropu, also boxed among tall inaccessible walls over 300 mt and the famous source of the Gologone. Greater Ia of Sardinia.
The Gennargentu is the thick one taller than Sardinia (1834 meters on the "Punta la marmora). its slopes have harshly been struck by the deforestations of the second halves the eight hundred, beautiful edges of mixed lecceta to corbezzolo and juniper him however they are preserved around the country of Desulo.
Climbing quota, the leccio is replaced by maple and roverella, accompanied in some points by hollies and rates, all trees however that they grow isolated, while on the tallest slopes, perpetually beaten by the wind, bushes and perennial grasses survive only.
A pò the fauna is better, eccezion done for the vultures, griffons and vultures monks, once very abundant and today only occasional. They are instead the muflonis and the dormouses. The great royal eagle and it foresees with different couples, together with the birds of prey of the wood as the buzzard. the sparrow-hawk and the astore
The predatory mammalian principal of the woods, together with the marten and to the fox, it is the Sardinian wild cat, that probably comes down from domestic cats brought in Sardinia millennial ago and become wild. To south of the thick principal he is included in the park a part of the Barbagia of Seulo that owes to her fame to the forest of 1600 hectares of secular lecci of Montarbu, one of the most beautiful of Sardinia.

I like this image -- well composed, great background vista, and that twisted, broken tree for a center of interest. The image needs a bit of brightening up though. I did a workshop to show you what I mean.
