The composition would be stronger with a crop from the right and with the posibility to have included the reflection.

great picture. brought a smile to my face... I love the way that the heron is looking at the water splash. I love that beady eye.

I think you could have emphasised this more with a better composition/cropping taking the heron more to the right and adding a little more space to the left..

Very nice shot, excellent colours and warm light, good detail and DOF is perfect. I'm assuming that's a fish that made the splash and I'm curious about something: Wouldn't a Croc eat this Heron given the chance?

Can't think how this shot could have been improved! Detail is excellent. No camera movement detectable is good since you must have been working without a tripod.

Hi Sheriff, lovely shot of this heron. I'd crop some off the right to keep the focus on the left of the Heron where the action is (and where the heron is looking). I just love the way the heron is looking so intently at the foolhardy fish bringing attention to itself. Beautiful pose and POV and very nice technique all around. Great shot :)

a real suspense being created here. Great moment grabbed by you. the action is greatly felt and the frozen ripples are really outstandingly produced.
excellent composition with the background well muted and the clarity is beyond doubt.
