| I found this interesting insect on a citrus tree and photographed it with a vivitar 80 200 lens set in the macro mode on a Minolta x500. From what I can gather from friends it is a native spider of Australia known as a two tone spider. Someone told me thet it can retrieve its web for future use, hence the large body, however I took that with a grain of salt. This specimen disappeared and I have not seen one since. Hopefully some Aussie will enlighten us. |

I like very much your subject, it is amazing, nature is strange but beautiful. The prespective and composition is fantastic, considering the size of this one. Whites are a bit overexposed though.
I made a fast workshot to reduce noise and sharpen, hope you like.
Hi John,I tried to photograph one of these on a mandarin the other day near Otorohanga,except mine was lime green with bits of white,and black spines.
I think they are from Aus,and are called two-spined spiders.I've found them on blackberry too.
